The accommodation is split up into hilltop cottages, where there are fifteen rooms on the west of the island overlooking Muskmelon Bay, Villas high on the hills with lovely views and private pools, and the very private North Bay Cottage, so exclusive, with its own private beach, just the perfect romantic honeymoon destination accommodation.

All the accommodations are very comfortable, private, not over furnished, and the local stone is used very cleverly and to good effect, just right for an island cottage. The windows are screened and there is a ceiling fan. There are no televisions, radios or telephones in the rooms, which is great and makes this a true private island hideaway, far from the cares of life, although there is complimentary wi-fi internet throughout the property.

Almost everything is included in the price you pay, which means three meals per day plus wines at lunch and dinner, afternoon tea, coffee, snacks, all activities on the island. This means the use of the two tennis courts, Sunfish, Kayaks, pedal boats, windsurfers, croquet, table tennis, and hiking trails. The beauty of a private island resort like this accessible only by boat is that you won’t have to share your beaches very often if at all.

There are some activities you might fancy which are extra which include waterskiing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and visits to other islands, but that is much as you would expect anywhere in the BVI or Caribbean for that matter.

The Guana Island Resort is quite properly proud of its dining, and all meals are served on a dining terrace. Breakfast is both buffet and served to the table, lunch is a wide ranging very tasty buffet, then there is cocktails and hors d’oeuvres between half past six and half past seven and dinner is served by candlelight, either at romantic tables for two or mixed up wit the other guests which is a great way of meeting like minded people.. There are beach barbeques, Castaway Picnics, and afternoon tea with all the trimmings.

Guana Island Resort is a great place for two completely differing groups. The first is as a family vacation destination and they have special children’s weeks in the summer. Even outside these times the staff just love setting out things for young children, and of course all the on land, on water activities make it ideal for teenagers.

Guana Island Resort is perfect as a romantic honeymoon destination and the isolated romantic North beach Cottage completely fits the bill in this respect.
