I conducted a survey on my horse betting systems blog not too long ago, and one of the questions asked “What do you find to be the biggest challenge when it comes to making your betting pay?”

Far and away the most popular answer was DISCIPLINE. I found this surprising. The biggest challenge did not seem to be finding enough winners. It was not finding the time to study form. It was not that could not get a suitable staking system to work for them.

The most painful thorn in the proverbial sides of the majority of my readers would seem to be a lack of will-power, a lack of discipline.

So let’s examine the topic of discipline as applicable to horse betting systems. I’m going to start my story….

….A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…..

You know the Star Wars saga, I’m sure, but just in case you don’t, it concerns the story of Anakin Skywalker who was the ambitious young apprentice to Obi Wan Kenobi. Anakin desperately wanted to become a Jedi Master. He had the Force strong within him, but he was not focused, and like many of us punters he lacked discipline. He was maverick in character. He allowed himself to be distracted from his duties when he fell in love with Princess Padme Amidala. Eventually he was persuaded by the evil Emperor to join with him, and he was seduced by the powerful forces of the Dark Side, becoming Darth Vader.

Perhaps you have travelled a similar path with your betting habits? For sure, we all KNOW we need to have a plan, and stick firmly to that plan. We all KNOW we should always be looking for value in our bets. We all KNOW that a prudent money management strategy would be in our best interests.

But we also KNOW we should be getting regular exercise, we should stop smoking, and eat our five a day of fruit and vegetables, right?

Becoming more disciplined is simply a matter of establishing beneficial new habits.

How can you start to achieve this?

First of all, cementing habits takes time – you will struggle to make big changes overnight. It takes 60 days for your brain to recognize and become comfortable with a change in behavior, so that eventually it becomes a habit.

Having a strong motivation to make changes will make things easier. High motivation will help you to resist in those moments of weakness. Bottom line, if you really, really want to make money from horse betting systems you will find yourself not easily distracted.

I hope you have found this article has gotten you thinking a little more about how ‘discipline’ relates to becoming a successful punter. I have a lot more to share on this topic, so I’m off now to start writing Episode 2.

Quite honestly I think someone is jerking your chain … to my knowledge ep 3 was never released on VHS. So either this IS something very rare or somebody trying to make a buck with a pretty lame claim.
